Healthy Food and Drink Mission and Objectives

The work carried out by the Healthy Food and Drink Team complies with various Government and Local Authority agendas and regulations including the DCSF, Every Child Matters, NCC Strategic Goals, Children and Young People’s Plan, and LAA targets

The Healthy Food and Drink Team has the following Objectives;

 

  1. To write up plans for the universal provision of hot meals by 2008, to be implemented by 2010.
  2. To support schools with statutory regulations for school meal and nutritional provision, Sept 2006, 2008 and 2009 by providing nutritional tools and access to appropriate food hygiene and nutritional training provision to all key stakeholders
  3. To ensure good quality free and paid meals
  4. To raise the take-up of FSM by 10% in 3 years
  5. To promote healthy food and drink as part of the whole school policy including before and after school provision
  6. To ensure all school kitchens comply with health and safety requirements
  7. To promote and encourage healthy lifestyles from early years through to teens

The Healthy Food and Drink Team aims to provide and promote high quality and healthy preferably hot meal provision for all, as part of a whole school holistic approach, encouraging healthy lifestyles’
